Yusuke Urameshi was a teen delinquent until a selfless act changed his life... by ending it. After he saved a kid from a speeding car, the afterlife didn't know what to do with him, so he got a second chance at life. Now, Yusuke is a ghost with a mission, but what strange things await him on the borderline between life and death? Engulfed in the Dark Tournament's sinister spirit of victory (more like survival), Team Urameshi's Hiei and Kurama dig deep into their arsenals to battle the vicious henchmen of Jolly Devil Six. It's Kurama vs. Roto and Hiei vs. Zeru, and the rules do include playing dirty. Meanwhile, Kuwabara experiences an enigmatic reverie about the members of Dr. Ichigaki's team, a group of martial arts students who enlisted in the tournament in exchange for a cure for their ailing master. Plus, enjoy a bonus episode about the chance meeting of Hiei and Kurama a year or so before they encountered Yusuke. Discover the bond that enabled Hiei and Kurama to annihilate a mighty demon.

Honestly one of the best series that I've ever read. Any material by Yoshihiro Togashi is always amazing. If you're coming over from the anime you must know that there is a slight difference on certain scenes. The fighting is also a lot lighter, & not at all drawn out. Although the plots storyline is interesting enough to cover that. If you're solely wanting to read it for just the fights then you're out of luck. Although I'd still highly recommend this series to anyone who shows interest.

I normally read manga online, but a lot of sites have removed the side stories. I love Yu Yu Hakusho and I really wanted to read the side story that was in this volume. I'm not going to go into details because I can't without giving away spoilers. All in all its awesome!!!

Loved this series back in middle and high school. Currently restoring my old collection and is just as good as I remeber it.

Yoshihiro Togashi, Yuyu Hakusho: Knife-Edge Death Match (ViZ, 2002)Yusuke and the crew have made it into the Dark Tournament, and as we left the crew in the last episode, Rinku and Kurabawa had just finished their math by knocking each other out of bounds... or is the match truly finished? After the gang finishes their first match, the Tournament goes on, and Yusuke's group leanrs what we already know-- their old adversaries Team Toguro survived the battle at the Black Book Club and are back for more. (You know where this is going, yes?) Togashi carries on the Dark Tournament storyline with style, flair, and nonstop action. Not terribly much in the way of character development, but we already know all the principals, so that's forgivable. ****
