I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK! "If kindness has falseness at its base, it is no longer kindness. It is a labored courtesy." Whoa - after reading those two lines I knew I needed to read this book.I pulled this book of the library shelf, without any recommendations, which I never do. However, the title caught my attention. My first reaction was that I really didn't need to read it because I think I am kind, but after reading the first three chapters I realized that kindness is a much deeper way of being that what most people believe. The author goes into how kindness involves so many other attributes (humility, warmth, trust, forgiveness, respect, honest etc.) Every human knows how to be kind, but this book allows readers to understand how to live kindly, to have kindness a part of our natures. We all need to know how to be a little more kind to one another.

Above all other qualities a person may have and share is kindness. Above intelligence, above wit, above humility, kindness underlies and pervades what is moral, good, everlasting, spiritual. The book says this, the reviewers say this, I merely parrot them. When I meet someone new, not new, or remembered, I look for kindness in what that person said and did. It's a quality to harmonize- and entrain with, like a tuning fork. Giving comes from kindness, receiving comes from giving. May the Great Spirit bless us.
