Have you ever felt that your life was one big episode of Candid Camera? Having found herself in many “Candid Camera” style situations, Laurie relays these funny stories in quick, easy-to-read, short chapters about her real life “moments.”

Stumbling Along will make you laugh until you cry, squirm with embarrassment, or cringe from the awkwardness of the circumstances in which Laurie finds herself. Whether it’s being stopped by the Mexican police or unknowingly speaking risqué words in Spanish to a Mexican pastor, you are bound to crack a smile at her quick-witted humor.

Laurie will take the themes from her anecdotes and biblically challenge us to practical, life applications. We can have a sense of humor and still live a genuine Christian life. Laurie will give you permission to laugh. If you’ve been void of laughter in your life then today is the day to begin laughing again.

Stumbling Along by Laurie Yost is an excellent book! I purchased this book at full price for my personal reading. I have thoroughly enjoyed the author's funny stories and also her deeper meaning portions at the end of each chapter. Laurie tells about some hilarious foibles she's endured throughout her life as a pastor's wife, mom, and missionary. Her stories sure are funny indeed, but they also remind us that we're human and we mess up and there's enough of God's grace for all of us. It further helps that she incorporates Biblical meaning and questions for more learning and thought. This would also make a great book for a small group or a Bible study.

Very fun read! Laurie tells of very real experiences and relates them to our faith walk. This book will make you laugh out loud while feeling your relationship with God. I met up with Laurie at a book signing today. Such a delightful lady!!

A fun and easy read that inspires and will make you laugh til you cry as the author describes life from her perspective as a wife, mother and missionary. The author weaves Scriptural "lessons" throughout and offers questions at the end of some the chapters which could be used in a small group setting.

Lovely, from the heart! It's like a breath of fresh air...relief for all of my many embarrassing moments. I'm reminded, as one who tends to be too serious, that it's ok to laugh at myself. Laurie uses her God given gifts and her many funny mishaps as an encouragement to others to laugh at ourselves in our embarrassing moments, as we draw closer to God for guidance in our imperfections. The "digging deeper" sections are thought provoking and prompted me to consider the questions and scriptures as they relate to my own Christian journey.

Things sometimes just happen but never as often as to this author. Laurie is such a funny lady and tells her stories in an endearing way. She uses each encounter to draw the reader closer to God as she reveals her own journey. You really can't believe the situations she gets herself into until you read it for yourself. The Bible says laughter is medicine...I especially liked the Digging Deeper sections and cried during Chapter 8.

A fun and delightful read as the author unabashedly shares her struggles and stumbles of life. Laurie is honest and transparent and has a way of making you feel understood in your own blunders. She also uses her own mistakes to point us to God, His availability, and reliability even in our weakness. Enjoy!

I joyfully recommend this book to anyone looking to laugh and learn. Laurie uses the events of her life to teach us not to take ourselves so serious and to look for God's blessing everyday in our lives.
