I expected something a little more comprehensive. It would be a good companion to a standard dictionary of the period.

This is a photocopy of the original publication. There is no publication date.If you read Dickens, Bronte, Austen, and other classic novels written during the Victorian period you will find this book a wonderful resource book to keep on hand.

good reference book if you are writing a Victorian era novel, though the format of the text and lack of an index make it difficult to fully utilize..

Bought as a Christmas gift but enjoyed by all. Brought back many memories of words and phrases used by older members of our family and friends and times past. Reminded us of the richness of our wonderful language. Thank you very very much Mr Redding Ware.
