For the TExES, which have a wide range of subject matter, this guide is a great introduction. It contains great information about test taking strategies. Perhaps the most helpful part, though, is the full length practice tests it offers. The questions were usually spot on to what I saw on the exam. However, I would definitely recommend also making use of the content-specific study guides offered by ETC. Then you can mae sure that you are studying the material that will be on your specific exam.Overall, a great product for anyone who needs an intro to the TExES

I got this book on the 20th of December and my test was on the 31st which was this past Monday. I found this text comprehensive as all the competencies were covered. Although I did EC-12, I also practiced the other tests and it helped me understand the scenarios in the actual test. I am so glad I found this book although I was already finishing my review. I would like to recommend this book to those who are looking for review materials. All the best!!!

This was my original book I used to study for my test.

I found the practice tests to be extremely helpful. They were good representations rigor of the questions that I experienced on the actual state test.

Please allow me to emphasize this; LEARN FROM YOUR TEACHER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM FIRST. I recently passed the PPR 8-12 test and I attest that I learned more from the review session from my professors at Stephen F. Austin than this book. I recoginized approximmtely 15 to 20 percent of tips and questions that are included in this guide. Yes, I conducted all tests in this book but Dr. O-B et al were way more helpful. If you pay attention to your review session, no matter the program, and skim through this kaplan book, YOU WILL PASS THE PPR TEST ON THE FIRST TRY. Best wishes! P.S. ETS can kiss my behind for charging future teachers $120.00 for a PPR and $120.00 for a content exam.

For me, the only useful part of this book was the chapter on test-taking strategies. The content was not current and the sample test questions were quite a bit easier than the real test questions were.
