I'm blatantly slanted towards Jim's book because he included my Astrokits barn door platform in this book and mentioned me in the preface. He purchased one of my Astrokits barn door platforms while he was researching the subject. We traded barn door ideas and concepts over a period of time. Hashing out the pros and cons of the various platforms available along with construction ideas. Many of the vendor names listed are outdated but most items are generic and can be found elsewhere. The book is filled with pictures which is always a good thing. He covers motors, finders, power sources, straight or curved rods, principles and designs, basic parts, testing, and too much more to list. I still can't figure how he put so much in 124 pages. This book was important 25 years ago and will be another 25 years from now.
