Many Vietnam veterans struggled upon returning to the United States. They wrestled with the psychic trauma of the war and felt isolated and out of place, rejected by their country. Author Daryl Paulson, a Vietnam vet, experienced the same feelings of displacement and despair. But he eventually understood that the Vietnam experience was an initiatory one, complete with a call to adventure, an initiation, and a return home with a new identity as a hero, a veteran. In "Walking the Point," Paulson's healing journey provides a wise example for veterans of Vietnam and other wars, as well as their loved ones.

DARYL S. PAULSON, Ph.D., is the president and CEO of BioScience Laboratories, Inc., a medical/pharmaceutical product research firm.

    Thanks. Great book.

Gives a small glimpse and understanding of the battles fought over seas and at home. Rejected by his country, veterans, friends, and citizens. Tell a Vietnam Nam vet you appreciate their service to their country and the loyalty to the United States of America.

Daryl Paulson's book, "Walking The Point" is an amazing accounting of not just his personal experiencesin Vietnam, but also a book that covers every aspect of what our Vietnam brothers faced, during the war and their fight to finally come home. It is an absolute must read for all Vietnam Veterans, male and female alike. While, deeply emotional, it contains some of the most compassionate language yet to be incorporated in any book of its kind. This is a book not just for the Vietnam Veteran. But, also for their loved ones and families. Once read, this book will stay in your heart forever and is a wonderful "Welcome Home" forall of our Vietnam Veterans.
