The maps in this Atlas are extremely detailed and of high quality. They show topography, the oven flow of the battle, they have multiple Maps for each campaign, and they have very detailed notes written about them on a company page. Another quality I love about this Atlas that separates it from others is all the maps AR drone so the top of the map is north in the bottom South so that you don't have to keep repositioning the book it being large. I cannot give it all stars though based on this fact: the atlas only covers major campaigns such as both bull runs, Fredericksburg, Antietam, in Gettysburg. If you're looking for some of the lesser-known but more studied now Eastern battles like monocacy, Bristoe Station, Chantilly or fairly large battles in the west like Perryville this atlas offers nothing.

Good summary write-ups for each battle map. Clear diagrams of battles. Great book for supplemental information.

I enjoy maps. This is a nice collection of military maps that I can use to get a picture of troop movements during these battles.

A must for the Civil War buff. Always have it on-hand while reading all CW books. Makes the battles come to life.
