It a wonderful revealing account of an extraordinary woman, born in the 19th century and giving us incredible details of life and culture at that time. The list of people she knew and socialized with is mind blowing, the Huxleys, B. Shaw, Maynard Keynes,Ts Eliot, Ezra Pound,Thomas Hardy, the list goes on and on. The times she lived through, from the Boer War to WW2, and changes she helped bring about and sustain are worth the read alone. She was way ahead of her time, yet firmly rooted in it. Charlie Fox

If one likes Virginia Woolf writing this is just more of the same. Witty, intimate, profound... malicious at times, she is not nice, she is not tender, but why should she be? this is her diary so she is just honest with herself... she is hard, depressed, happy, interested, amused (and amusing)... Great read

The exterior of the book was more beat up than I anticipated. The book itself is wonderful.

Although it isn't a page-turner by my standards, I am happy to have purchased the collection. The condition was excellent and shipping was prompt. I gave it four stars only because of the decreased interest I had in the subject matter, otherwise the interaction during purchase was great.

I have a copy of this in paperback, but wished to add a hardback to my collection. I am delighted with the condition and quality of this edition.
