I just think it's fascinating to see how people saw modesty and how it affected the sexes. I was really impressed with the detail in the book. Not just information about women in the States, but men and women all over the world. Very solid read.

Last summer, I took a class called the psychology of sex. Not only did I get an A, but it was one of my favorite classes of my undergraduate career. I really wanted to learn more. This volume is a great starting point for that. It is a high level read, but so informative. I was fascinated with the whole book, and really enjoyed it. What a read. I cannot wait to read more volumes.

Be careful, there is an edition out there of Havelock Ellis's Third Volume of "Studies in the Psychology of Sex" which is a horribly put together book. It's a print-on-demand copy. There is the barest of front matter, no copyright page (so, quite difficult to cite if you're in academia), and no table of contents. The print as well is close to 10 font, so readers with weak eyes should look elsewhere. It's actually quite ridiculous that this book even exists.

I've been heavily embedded in research for two decades and the hardcover version of this book is out of reach for us at tge moment but even so the accessibility of having it on my tablet is a godsend. The research compiled inn this bou utilizes the case studies as well as theories of Freud, Yung, etc,. Every page is full of invaluable insight and begs for thoughtful reflection. I consider this book to be The Handbook for Sex Psychology. If you're curious about three weet of modesty, self erotic fulfillment, etc you'll find that there are precedents for our behaviors and in knowledge there is both acceptance and/or change when seen from a larger world and cultural perspective than our immediate influences.
