SOMEONE LOVES YOU. UNCONDITIONALLY. UNSHAKABLE, UNFAILINGLY. That Someone is God Himself. But how can that be possible? Why would God love you so? Because He has fashioned an unbreakable covenant between Himself and you. And He always keeps His promises. “Everything God does,” says Kay Arthur, “is based on His covenant.” And when you understand how thoroughly the dynamic concept of covenant permeates everything God says in His Word, and everything He does in our lives, you’ll come to experience one of the most stabilizing, most freeing truths you’ll ever know.

In a culture in which unfaithfulness is rampant, God’s “fierce, ferocious loyalty” toward us is difficult to imagine. And yet, through her characteristically warm and wise exploration of the Scripture, Kay Arthur will lead you into discovering the stunning truth of God’s covenant–and help you experience its revolutionary truth in your life.

The Bible reveals the covenant bond to be the highest personal relationship possible. In ancient times, covenants were solemn, binding agreements supremely honored above all others. Making a covenant represented an unqualified, total commitment of one person to another–unconditionally, totally, eternally.
As you follow the thread of God’s covenant woven throughout the Bible, you’ll discover the awesome privilege of getting to know the Lord as your Covenant God.

From the Hardcover edition.

Popular Bible teacher Arthur, cofounder of Precept Ministries, traces the idea of God's covenant from the Old and New Testaments to its meaning for people in the 20th century. She begins by reflecting on the first sign of God's covenant with humankind in the story of Noah and the flood. She then explores the ramifications of the covenant relationship between David and Jonathan, before focusing her attention on Jesus Christ as the mediator of the New Covenant. She notes, "A covenant relationship supersedes all other relationships. If you are in covenant with Jesus Christ, you are in covenant with One who is God." Using anecdotes from her own ministry experiences as well as a deep reading of Scriptures, Arthur explains the seriousness of making a covenant, especially in an age she sees as marked by casual commitments and broken promises. While readers will benefit from the depth of her study, her saccharine and manipulative style will put off many readers. For example, Arthur notes, "Beloved Christ laid down his life for you... His potential covenant partner, and you are to do the same."Copyright 1999 Reed Business Information, Inc. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. This book is truly inspired by God. The author outlines in detail the promises of God that all believers should know. In addition, she defines the meaning of establishing a covenant with God and God's ability to fulfill his covenant with his people.

"Our Covenant God" was mentioned in our weekly Bible Study by our Pastor as we began the study of the covenant God made with man. Pastor said he reads it at least once a year. Well, I thought perhaps I should see what has our man of God so commited to reading this book. From the first page to the last it was like manna from heaven. Each chapter opened my eyes to the significance and depth of God's love for me and His unfailing commitment to my salvation; His unending grace that he would build into His contract and my daily life a way for me to understand and walk in His love and His power and understand His mercy towards me. I was born into a covenant. When I gave my life to Jesus Christ and was born again, God's covenant was again opened to me in a new and different way, When I sin, God His covenant covers me. Through communion His covenant reminds me of the price paid for my sin and salvation. Through the marriage covenant, I am not ony a bride of the church, but of my spouse. There is no highway in life I can turn to now and not realize my convenant relationship with God. Thank you, Kay Arthur, for making our covenant relationship with God so crystal clear!

I have always known that Jesus Christ was all through the Bible but had a hard time seeing Him in every book. This study helped me understand more of that....

If you want to have a deep life changing experience, I recommend this book. As Christians we are told about God's promises and His faithfulness. The word promise does not do justice to God's commitment to us."Our Covenant God" brings understanding of the word "Covenant"and reveals a whole new level of relationship.I am looking at the Covenants God made with His people with new eyes.

Our Covenant God was done as a Bible study and the best study we have done yet. We didn't want it to end. We learned so much and it brought about a lot of discussion. We each read it at home and then again when we got together. Very good!!!!
