Words of wisdom & one's love for a grandmother who has sadly passed on is the theme of this charming book. Life lessons are reinforced as a grandmother instructs her granddaughter on what is really important as she makes her way through life.

Healing From a Grandmother's Heart by Amanda Larson is a charming tale of a girl's relationship with her grandmother. But it goes beyond that to deal with deeper issues that we all experience, though the wisdom passed down from generation beyond generation.

This has become one of my favorite books. I say 'sweet' because the lessons are so gentle and heart-warming. Yet, they are extremely profound and important. Larson did a great job of bringing her grandmother and her grandmother's messages to life.

I keep my copy of this gem on my dip-in-for-inspiration shelf after discovering it some years ago. I read it through when I got it, and still want it nearby for reference. It's beautifully written and filled with earthy wisdom. You can feel the love between Amanda and her granny. Didi I mention it's beautifully written? For anyone who loves love!

I came across this book at a local bookstore, wanted to recommend it to a friend in England, and so checked to see if it were listed with Amazon. The book's message is very simple and straight-forward, common sensible, but not at all simplistic or precious. I enjoyed the stories about the author's grandmother, who had one of those interesting "small" lives, and found her advice very compelling. Plus the author has a real gift for language and phrasing; her descriptions are very evocative. It's a book I'd highly recommend.

This book is wonderful... I got the book, started reading it, and was hooked. I enjoyed the stories and little bits of wisdom tucked within the pages. It is obvious that Edna was a very special lady. Ms. Larson style of writing allows the reader to feel part of the story, not an outsider looking on. While reading this book I was constantly reminded of my own relationship with my Grandmother and many fond memories. This is a wonderful book filled with love and the history of a woman who lived everyday to the fullest.

How interesting that Diane Ney felt the EXACT same way and found ANOTHER book the exact same way in England. Bogus reviews:
