Evil Is Born Joshua enters the world in a gritty basement apartment beneath the shadow of an old water tower. He was beaten, neglected, and by the end of his first day of life, abandoned. Haunted family trees, chilling photo insights, and twisted psychopaths tell Joshua’s bone-chilling story. He’s followed from womb through foster care, ending in the numbing terror of his forever home. Joshua is the son of Ayla and Mack – the unknown baby in Broken By Truth. How is he connected to The Senator? Is he doomed for evil? What is his true legacy? Broken By Birth re-invents the thriller – blending fact, fiction, and photos into a riveting story you’ll never forget.

Dr. Jeri Fink is an author, photographer, and social worker/family therapist. She is the author of 28 books, hundreds of articles and blogs, and has been on television, radio, the internet and in seminars, conferences, and workshops around the country.

This is an excellent book and I gave it a 5-star rating because it is well-written, fast-paced and full of action and adventure. There are plenty of twists and turns, interesting and believable characters, and an authenticity that makes the plot read more like a compelling autobiography than mere fiction. The settings are well-crafted and full of vibrant descriptions, and the theme is well-rounded and consistent. Simply put: the authors did a wonderful job writing this book.I must admit, however, that I found some parts of the book painfully difficult to read based on its abusive content concerning physical violence and child endangerment. One could surmise that these controversial elements are what actually add to the the book's sublime storyline. Be that as it may, for me personally, stories like these possess a macabre, somber element that creates an uneasiness in me. The other issue I have is that the book ends with a cliffhanger (and I simply abhor books with this type of ending). Nevertheless, and personal peeves aside, the book is still a very worthy and enjoyable read. The story is about the plight of several women who are inadvertently connected to a corrupt senator, and the consequences thereof. (Commenting any further than this may present the reader with a spoiler or two!) Excellent job Dr. Funk and Ms. Paltrowitz!

Superb! "Broken by Birth" picks up where "Broken by Truth" leaves off, and keeps the wild ride going; in fact, it gets even better. Dr. Jeri Fink really delves into her characters here and pulls of a difficult feat in letting the reader see the buried humanity in even some of the worst of people. No easy, cheesy black and white here, but rather a viscerally accurate portrayal of the desperation that drives certain desperate acts...or is it sometimes just a "bad seed"? The question is explored in the skillful confines of Jeri's sharp and forward-rushing story that is entertaining to be sure but also thought-provoking. The best of both worlds! Weave in the connection to the past that haunts some of her denizens and you are fully hooked. Again, the only downside to this book is that it is in a series and now I have to wait for number three!

"BROKEN BY BIRTH" manages to once again get my undivided attention as it is a mixture of one part photo-book and an easy read . Another Masterpiece in the "BROKEN" series.I could not put it down. Not only was it a delightful confection but the author manages again to give us part fiction, part nostalgic thriller with her mixture of what she coins her imagery as "PHOTO INSIGHTS"Broken by Birth defines the cause and effect of the mind and development of a psychopath. The photography presents a novel way of taking the reader on this seamless journey....... BRILLIANT

This is the 2nd installment of the "Broken by..." series. It is a fascinating back story about some of the characters introduced in Broken by Truth. I was completely immersed in the story and in the surprises uncovered about the characters. I loved it.

This book grabs you by the collar with two hands and won't let you go. It begins at a frenetic pace and in a breathless rush propels you into a world of sex, violence and darkness. Then it takes a dramatic turn. The pace slows as the depiction of the characters deepen. Throughout there is a sense of foreboding. Bad things are going to happen to good people because of the actions of their predecessors. Can one change their character and alter their fate? Well written and intriguing story.
